Saving The Rainforest

The ADPML Portel-Pará Project, located in Brazil, protects over 365,000 acres of rich, diverse plant and animal life against the threat of deforestation in the region. ADPML successfully identifies and removes illegal logging, squatting, and pasture clearing activities. The project educates and trains the local community to continuously monitor the land as guardians. Furthermore, local community members are given efficient, inexpensive cook stoves, are granted legal land ownership rights, and are educated in agroforestry to improve farming practices and develop small businesses.
